I John 1:11 “But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.” Hating your brother blinds you and doesn’t allow you to achieve your purpose. It removes you from the path of light and casts you into the broad way of darkness. It throws you into a state of confusion and leads you into the way of destruction. It limits your growth. It does not let you discover your purpose, nor complete your purpose. Cain began to hate his brother after they both presented sacrifices to the Lord and his brother’s was accepted; but his wasn’t. He eventually killed his brother, was judged by God, and became a marked fugitive and vagabond in the earth (Genesis 4). Cain should have put his pride aside and corrected himself.
