Psalm 13 How long wilt thou forget me, O Lord? for ever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me?  2 How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? how long shall mine enemy be exalted over me?  3 Consider and hear me, O Lord my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death;

Psalm 71:4 Deliver me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, out of the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man.  5 For thou art my hope, O Lord God: thou art my trust from my youth.  6 By thee have I been holden up from the womb: thou art he that took me out of my mother's bowels: my praise shall be continually of thee.

Psalm 8:2  Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.

Psalm 20   The Lord hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee;  2 Send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion;  3 Remember all thy offerings, and accept thy burnt sacrifice; Selah.  4 Grant thee according to thine own heart, and fulfil all thy counsel.

What do you do when tragedy strikes? Do you get angry with God. Do you curse Him? Do you encourage yourself in the Lord? or do you bow down and worship Him? Yes, that’s what I said. Do you bow down and worship Him? This is what Job did when tragedy descended upon him like an army and no wonder God’s report of Job was that he was a perfect and upright man or a believer who walks uprightly because how many of us do this when tragedy strikes. It is easier to murmur, complain, and sin with our lips than to bow down and worship God. It is much easier to blame an innocent person for our troubles than to bow down and worship God. It is much easier to tell God how good we have been and why we do not deserve it, and it is much easier to tell God how much money we have put into the offering plates and that we do not deserve it; but not so with Job, he decided to honor God instead and forget about himself after he lamented his many losses. Psalm 119:28  My soul melteth for heaviness: strengthen thou me according unto thy word.  29 Remove from me the way of lying: and grant me thy law graciously.  30 I have chosen the way of truth: thy judgments have I laid before me.  31 I have stuck unto thy testimonies: O Lord, put me not to shame.  32 I will run the way of thy commandments, when thou shalt enlarge my heart.

Psalm 69  Save me, O God; for the waters are come in unto my soul.  2 I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing: I am come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me.  3 I am weary of my crying: my throat is dried: mine eyes fail while I wait for my God.

2 Samuel 15:31 And one told David, saying, Ahithophel is among the conspirators with Absalom. And David said, O Lord, I pray thee, turn the counsel of Ahithophel into foolishness.   The Lord will turn the counsel of your conspirators into foolishness in the name of Jesus!

Sometimes Christian children feel left out in school. Sometimes they are faced with the temptation of wanting to be like the kids who do not have Christian parents. They want to dress like them, behave like them, and tell the same jokes as them. Sometimes they are unwilling to let their peers know that they are Christians who believe in God and His Son Jesus, so I always tell my children that they are highly favored and that they have been called to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world. I let them know that they have something to teach their peers and that they should not allow them to teach them bad things. I let them know that when you have Jesus it is the greatest honor that anyone could ever have so that they would have encouragement along the way. Throughout my life, I have felt as if people are always trying to move me over in order to take my place.  I really believe this is the case of some people. Saul was trying to move David from his place. He did not want David to have his place in the kingdom.  He tried to kill him every day and did it openly but there are people who commit crimes secretly to move their neighbors.
