WHEN TRAGEDY STRIKES
What do you do when tragedy strikes? Do you get angry with God. Do you curse Him? Do you encourage yourself in the Lord? or do you bow down and worship Him? Yes, that’s what I said. Do you bow down and worship Him? This is what Job did when tragedy descended upon him like an army and no wonder God’s report of Job was that he was a perfect and upright man or a believer who walks uprightly because how many of us do this when tragedy strikes.
It is easier to murmur, complain, and sin with our lips than to bow down and worship God. It is much easier to blame an innocent person for our troubles than to bow down and worship God. It is much easier to tell God how good we have been and why we do not deserve it, and it is much easier to tell God how much money we have put into the offering plates and that we do not deserve it; but not so with Job, he decided to honor God instead and forget about himself after he lamented his many losses. You cannot find a more perfect approach to tragedy than that.
David had a similar experience, too. One day, he left his wives and children for business and when he returned an enemy had plundered and burned his city and took their wives, sons, and daughters as captives. Not knowing how to handle their tragedy the people blamed David and wanted to stone him, but David, after he cried bitterly, encouraged himself in the Lord and enquired from the Lord what step to take next.
So the next time tragedy comes your way like an unwanted visitor, and I pray to God that it never does, I want you to cry as much as you like, and then get down on your knees and worship God and encourage yourself in the Lord. Do not think that crying and lamenting is an abnormal thing to do and do not feel guilty about it either because like the good old man of wisdom said, there is a time and a season for everything under heaven.

If you have never accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour and you will like to inherit everlasting life. I would like to invite you to pray this simple prayer right now.

Scriptures for Meditation
Job 1:20 Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped, 21 And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord. 22 In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.
I Samuel 30:3 So David and his men came to the city, and, behold, it was burned with fire; and their wives, and their sons, and their daughters, were taken captives. 4 Then David and the people that were with him lifted up their voice and wept, until they had no more power to weep.
Ecclesiastes 3:To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven…. 4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance.
Grace and peace be multiplied to you through the knowledge of God
