SERVANTS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS

Romans 6:1 tells us, “What shall we say then?  Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?  God forbid. Romans 6:1 is the gist of the entire chapter and it is a command to us not to abuse, misuse, or misinterpret Romans 5:20 which tells us, “...But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound” because this is what many people do.    And what does Romans 6:1 teach us?  It teaches us that God forbids sinning that grace may abound.   It sounds to me like deliberate sinning-- In other words, I know that what I am doing is wrong, but I am still going to sin anyway because of grace.   What is the meaning of the word “forbid”?  It means “to command against.” Therefore we should be very careful not to do it let alone teach it.   It makes no sense that Jesus came to save us from our sins and as well encourage us to sin because grace did much more abound.  Please do not get me wrong, I thank God for grace because without it I would be dead already.
