2 Peter 3:8 “But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.” In this epistle, the Apostle Peter reminds us that in the last days scoffers will arise according to the prophecies given before by the holy prophets as well as the commandments of the apostles of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. These scoffers, some of whom will be well-known men and women in the body of Christ, will go around saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the Fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation .” In other words, they will mock the coming of the Lord Jesus and anyone who talks about His coming. The Apostle Peter also lets us know that these men and women “walk after their own lusts” (2 Peter 3:3). They steal from the poor to make themselves richer.
