SALT OF THE EARTH

We don’t use salt in our house when we cook anymore, but I realize from experience that salt is the best seasoning for flavor.  I used to criticize the chefs who just seasoned with salt and pepper whenever I watched cooking programs with my girls; but now I understand why they did it because there is nothing better than salt for seasoning and no wonder we have been called the “salt of the earth.”

Matthew 5:13 tells us, “Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.”

Jesus warns us that it is possible for us to lose our savor and become something no longer acceptable to God and worthy of honor; but something worthy of dishonor and rejection by God--hence the phrase “to be trodden under foot of men.”

Our taste in the mouth of the Master can become so distasteful that he has no other choice but to spit us out like a burning hot spoon of food from His mouth.

When we lose our savor our lights do not shine before men and they do not see our good works in order to glorify the Father, which is in heaven.

When we lose our savor we no longer have peace one with another, and our words are no longer seasoned with grace.

When we lose our savor we make vows to destroy another man’s ministry.

When we lose our savor we make plans to put a man of God in jail or prison because of the Truth.

So Jesus asked this question, “but if the salt have lost his savor wherewith shall it be salted?”  Which seems to imply that there is no more hope left for them because if you are rejected by the Father to whom do you turn?
I have a word of encouragement for all those of you who are salt in the world and did not lose your saltiness.  The word is, “Rejoice! because the Father greatly delights in you because through you, His name is glorified and given praise, and the people of the world are salted.  Praise the mighty name of Jesus.

Grace and peace be multiplied to you through the knowledge of God

INVITATION
If you have never accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour and you will like to inherit eternal life.  I would like to invite you to pray this simple prayer with me right now.

PRAYER
Lord Jesus, I repent of my sins.  Thank you for forgiving me. Please come into my life and save me.  I confess you as my Lord and Savior and believe in my heart that God has raised you from the dead, Amen.

I wish you congratulations, and would like to advise to ask God to lead you to a church that teaches truth.  To get baptized and receive the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues. May the Lord richly bless you and keep you, Amen.
