HOW TO INHERIT ETERNAL LIFE
Matthew 19:16-26 tells us what a person has to do to inherit eternal life. When asked by the young rich ruler what good things a person needed to do to inherit eternal life or be saved, Jesus replied in verse 17, “Keep the commandments.”
The young rich ruler then asked him in return which ones? He replied, “Do not commit murder. Do not commit adultery. Do not steal. Do not bear false witness (tell lies). Honor your father and mother. Love your neighbor as yourself.” (Learn the 10 commandments in Exodus 20)

The young rich ruler then stated he kept all of them from his youth up and the Bible said, “then Jesus beholding him loved him” (Mark 10:21). If he was not telling the truth Jesus would have let him know. You know Jesus. He is not afraid to tell others about sin.
The young rich ruler then asked Jesus if he lacked anything else to inherit eternal life.
Jesus replied to him that if he desired to be PERFECT, that he should sell all that he had and give it to the poor, and come and follow him (verse 21). When he heard Jesus’ response he became sorrowful and went away because he had great possessions.
Too many people come for the counsel of God; but don’t take the advice.
Too many people want to inherit eternal life; but don’t want the instructions.
Too many people want to inherit eternal life; but don’t want the rules.
Too many people want to inherit eternal life; but don’t want to keep the commandments.
The young ruler was asked to give up one thing and he wasn’t willing to do it. What is that one thing that is preventing you from inheriting eternal life? Is it unbelief? Is it the lust of the flesh? Is it the lust of the eyes? Is it the pride of life?
Mark 8:36 (KJV) tells us “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? The answer is nothing. Absolutely nothing! There is no gain in gaining the whole world. There is only loss. I John 2:17 (KJV) tells us that the world passes away and the lust thereof: but he that does the will of God will abide forever. You will not go to hell and experience the second death; but you will inherit eternal life.
Do you want to inherit eternal life? Repeat this prayer now. Lord Jesus I repent of my sins. Please forgive me. Come into my life and save me. I confess you as my Lord and Saviour and believe in my heart that God has raised you from the dead. Amen.
Now find a church that teaches truth (the word of God) and be baptized and receive the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues.
