STOP LIGHTS

Proverbs 1:7 tells us “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.”

Just as there are earthly rules to follow so also are there heavenly instructions to follow.  The fear of the Lord is a set of heavenly rules for men to follow in order to please the Father and get to Heaven.  They are the stop lights that prevent us from going to hell and having major accidents in life.  

You do not run through stop lights, do you?  In the same way, you should not ignore the fear of the Lord.  Think about not following the instructions of the Lord as a set of red lights that you have gone through; then visualize the damages you’ve caused or call to your remembrance reports of others going through stop lights and think about the damages they had caused.

 They injured themselves badly or died.  They killed or injured others badly as well as destroyed property.  In some very rare cases nothing happened; but you and I know it will just be a matter of time before something terrible happens if this senseless behavior is not stopped.

My little children, sin hurts others as well as you and it would behoove you to depart from it.  Don’t tell me you can’t do it because I know that you do not deliberately (willfully) or presumptuously (thinking you have a right to do it) run through solid red lights.  If you do, you will cause a major accident that you or others may not survive.  

Now, it is possible that you may ignorantly go through a solid red light.  This is easy to correct if you live.  Just learn the rules.  People may also tell you that it is okay to go through some red lights when it is safe to do so.  God will never tell you this.  These are not the rules of the kingdom of God. 

Wisdom and instructions are there to protect us from danger and to steer us into the right direction.  Hear the voice of Wisdom today and live.  

The Fear of the Lord is a set of stop lights that prevent us from having accidents in life and going to Hell.  Get it!
