WHO GOES WHERE IN ETERNITY
Psalm 1 begins by addressing four individuals, the righteous, (the ungodly, the sinner, and the scorner). Then it tells us in verse 5, who goes where in eternity.
Psalm 1:5 “Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.”
- Therefore the ungodly...
Who are the ungodly? The ungodly are people who have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, were purged from their old sins, but returned to live an ungodly life and became unrepentant. They do not do what 2 Peter 1 teaches.
2 Peter 1:6-7 tells us to add to our faith, virtue; add to virtue, knowledge; add to knowledge, temperance; add to temperance, patience; add to patience, GODLINESS; add to GODLINESS, brotherly kindness; and add to brotherly kindness, charity.
- ....shall not stand in the judgment…
In what Judgment? The judgment seat of Christ. ( Ro. 14:10, 2 Cor. 5:10, Rev 11:18)
- ...nor sinners…
Who are sinners? Sinners are those who have never accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior.
- ...in the congregation of the saints. (Rev.11:18)
Where will the saints gather? At the judgment seat of Christ. Who are the saints? The doers and not just the hearers of the word of God. Those who fear Him. These will make it to Heaven. (Romans 2:13; James 1:22)
According to the above scripture, the ungodly as well as sinners WILL NOT stand in the judgment seat of Christ. This tells me that the ungodly and sinners will find themselves standing in the White throne judgment (Rev 20-21) and will be cast into the lake of fire, as well as scorners. (Romans 2:8)
- Who are scorners? Those who are contentious, deal in proud wrath, and bring strife and reproach to the kingdom of God. (Proverbs, Romans 2:8)
Repentance is the only thing that will save them, but they MUST REPENT before they die. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth. (Matthew 13)
- Let those who have understanding, hear what the Spirit of the Lord is saying to the Church.
Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God.
