Proverbs 31:30. "Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised."
Practice What You Preach
I once knew a mother who asked her kids to
clean up their rooms each morning when they awoke; but didn’t clean hers. As mothers, we should not only be
instructors; but as well living models.
The same applies to ministers of God. We all want to have a pulpit to preach from;
but how many of us are living epistles of what we preach? We’re excited about
the manifestations of the Spirit in and through us; but how many of us are
concerned about our eternity?
In Luke 10:20, Jesus said, don’t rejoice that the spirits are
subjected unto you; but rejoice that your name is written in heaven. In other words, focus on your eternity; instead
of your spiritual ability. Be concerned
about your salvation; rather than your spiritual ammunition. Endeavor to be to the praise of His glory rather than to receive the praise of men, and when you get the right focus, your rejoicing will be more meaningful.
