How to Know if You are Carnal

HAVE YOU ACCEPTED JESUS AS YOUR LORD AND SAVIOR, YET?

IF NOT, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?  YOU MAY NOT BE ABLE TO DO SO TOMORROW.

Romans 10:9. "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved!"

John 3:16. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

John 3:17 "For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved."

Romans 1:16. "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Matthew 1:21.  "And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins."

How to Know If You Are Carnal

I Corinthians 3:3, “For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?"

According to the scripture above, to be carnal is to walk as men: to behave, speak, and think in the manner men do, and a few ways a Christian can behave as a natural man is through walking in envy, strife and divisions in the Body of Christ.  Other terms for being carnal are walking in the flesh, walking in darkness, and not being led by the Spirit of God.

Matthew 5:16, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

Instead of walking in carnality, God wants us to let our “lights shine” before men.  What is this light?  It is our good works, which is different from that of the world because it is based on the teachings of Jesus Christ.   When we do this, the Scripture states that the Father gets glorified in heaven because we were created to be the praise of His glory.

There are too many of us who are in the Body of Christ and are still walking according to the flesh.  The light of Jesus Christ is not shining through us as it is supposed to, and we have become candles placed under a bushel rather than cities placed on a hill—a thing that is hidden instead of a thing that is seen.  Your light sparkles when you spread the good news of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ as well as live the life God ordained for you to live.

When you walk in darkness you blend in with the world and become difficult to be seen; that’s why the Bible commands to be in the world and not be conformed to the world, for this is not the life God desires for you.  He wants you to standout as light on a dark night.  He wants you to live according to the Word of God and not according to the wisdom of men.   You must endeavor to live by the Bible. God’s Word should be the number one authority in your life.  Anything else is secondary and should be compared to the Word of God.

Romans 8:14, “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.”

Beloved, sons of God are led by the Spirit of God and as a result have life and peace.  Children of God please God because they are spiritually-minded--they are subjected to the law of God.   The carnal mind cannot please God because it does not subject to the law of God, and thus, it brings death.

Romans 8:13, “For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.”

It All Depends on You
Last week, I read an article about a young student who contracted a flesh-eating disease after an accident, which led to her losing one limb and is threatening the others.  I immediately looked at my life and decided that I would not want to be in her shoes and instantly repented of the little things that I was complaining about.
Sometimes, we need to remind ourselves to be thankful and sing praises.  It is so easy to focus on the negatives but it takes effort to focus on the positives.   It is so easy to focus on what is wrong and not on what is right in our lives.   Many times, we overlook how blessed we are and need to be reminded through the life experiences of others.
The choice is yours.  You can decide to be a positive thinking individual or a negative thinking one.   You can decide to be a person who looks up at all times or a person who looks down at all times.   You can decide to be pessimistic or optimistic.  You can decide to see the glass half-full or half-empty.  You have the power to do it.  It all depends on you.
Psalm 92:1, “It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High.”

Things to Consider

A Woman of Praise is a spiritual woman who is not carnally-minded.

It's not what I build in the Kingdom of God; but it is more whether what I build will withstand the fire of God and REMAIN.

Strive to be a masterbuilder in the Kingdom of God and not a destroyer.

Remember, you are a laborer with God and not with man.

Remember, you are His husbandry.

The way of Wisdom is a way of peace and pleasantness.

Let not your faith stand in the wisdom of men; but in the power of God.
